News Release (Correspondent: Chen Le) On the afternoon of December 26, the School of Computer Science and Engineering (School of Artificial Intelligence) of Wuhan Institute of Technology successfully held an academic report entitled "Application of Recommendation Engines in E-commerce Field". The school specially invited Dr. Liu Shen, an expert in the fields of data, artificial intelligence and actuarial consulting, to give the lecture. This academic report was presided over by Professor Xu Huaxin, Dean of the School of Computer Science and Engineering (School of Artificial Intelligence). Members of the school leadership team, relevant professional teachers, doctoral students and master's students attended the report.
At the report meeting, Dr. Liu Shen focused on the product recommendation engine technology in e-commerce scenarios and in-depth shared his practical application achievements in the retail field. By in-depth analyzing billions of transaction data and integrating user behavior characteristics with scenario context information, this recommendation engine achieves precise and personalized commodity recommendation services. The system has large-scale customer operation capabilities, which can effectively improve the conversion rate of new users and the repurchase rate of old users, providing strong impetus for the sales growth of enterprises. Verified by actual tests, compared with traditional models, this recommendation engine has significantly improved the redemption rate and brought higher Return on Investment (ROI) for cooperative enterprises. Expert Profile: Dr. Liu Shen graduated from Monash University in Australia in 2012 with a PhD in Mathematics and Statistics. He is a senior expert in the fields of data, artificial intelligence and actuarial consulting. His career started with academic research and actuarial consulting, and he later served as a Data Science Manager in a well-known Australian retail enterprise, leading the team to develop innovative data solutions and create significant business value. Currently, he is a partner of Logickube, responsible for leading key projects such as product recommendation systems, data automation pipelines and business performance evaluation, serving the retail, financial and insurance industries. Dr. Liu is a certified Google Cloud Professional Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia. As the first author of a big data analysis book, he won the Best Artificial Intelligence Award at the 2017 SoftBank Robotics World Competition.
